Why I built this

My son arrived more than two months early, at 29 weeks.

Nothing prepares you for that. One day you're counting down to a due date, the next you're standing over an incubator watching a baby who fits in the palm of your hand fight for every breath. The machines, the wires, the numbers on the monitors you don't understand yet — and the waiting. So much waiting.

What I remember most is how lost I felt. I wanted answers at 2am that nobody was around to give. I wanted to know if what I was seeing was normal, what came next, and whether my son was going to be okay.

When we finally brought him home, I ran into something nobody warned me about: the milestone charts don't fit. A baby born early isn't behind — they're measured differently, by their adjusted age. It took me too long to figure that out.

I built Adjusted Age for the parent standing where I stood. The tools I wish I'd had, the answers I went looking for, in one place. From one preemie parent to another — you're not alone in this.

Adjustedage.com exists for the parent in the NICU hallway, the one Googling corrected age at midnight, the one comparing their baby to charts that were never designed for preemies.

Every tool is free. Every guide is written from lived experience. The medical information is checked against published guidance from sources like the CDC and AAP.
